Maira Khan alerts her fans about a fake twitter account running with her name

Another celebrity fell prey of impersonation on twitter, this time it is actress, TV presenter and a key member of team Khabarzaar, Maira Khan.

There has been a twitter account running with her name for last many years and until last week we had no clue if it was a fake account unless Maira herself got active on twitter from her own twitter account pointed it out.

While she has contacted Twitter to take down the fake account, she also took tweeted a video from her account. Here is what she tweeted:

While talking to MediaSpring PK, Maira said,

”It is kind of complicated situation, one can simply not understand the intention of making such account or impersonating someone on social media. It gets more complicated in our case as sometimes fans make such accounts without having any harmful intention, but fans need to understand that there is a difference between a fan page and impersonating an account. I think we must educate our fans about that too.”

Maira Khan’s real name is Pakiza Saeed and that is why twitter is taking long to process her claim. “My real or the name on my official documents is Pakiza Saeed while my screen name is Maira Khan – that is how people know and call me – perhaps this is why Twitter is still not sure if i am the real one or not,” said the actress.

Maira Khan (AKA Pakeeza Saeed) is part of showbiz since 2008, she started her acting career with “Yaad Piya Ki Aye” on PTV Home and so far has worked in many hit drama series such as Rangeelpur, Mil Ke Bhi Hum Na Milay, Babul, Do Saal Ki Aurat, Kanpur Se Katas Tak, Teen Patti, Meri Bahuin and many more.

She joined team of Aftab Iqbal’s flagship show in 2016 to feature in hit satire infotainment show Khabardaar. These days Maira can be seen on Aap News in Aftab Iqbal hosted Khabarzaar.

Maira Khan also visited England last year to do a course on broadcast journalism and TV anchoring.
