These days Sarmad Khoosat (Actor and director) has a lot to be enthusiastic. Manto – The film is ready to release on September 11th and it has cleared all the censor board requirements to get the certificate.
As per Sarmad’s Facebook status dedicated to the original Manto:
“Pyaray Manto Saab! Shayad hum thoray say baligh ho gaye hain….thora haazma bhee behtar ho gaya hai….saqeel aur thoss ghiza bhee khanay lag gaye hain….aap say ub bhee thora jhijaktay hain magar aapki tehreeron pay sochna shuru kar diya hai hum nay….ummeed hai aap bhee bohat naummeed nahiii hain. aapka Sarmad Khoosat”. MANTO the film passed by all three censor boards i.e. Central (Islamabad), Punjab and Sindh. p.s. without ANY obliteration (s)”
Manto – The film is a Geo Films production and is directed by Khoosat himself. Sarmad is playing the role of Sadaat Hasan Manto in the Manto. The film has perhaps the best cast of our industry like Faysal Qureshi, Humayon Saeed, Sania Saeed, Saba Qamar, Nimra Bucha, Mahira Khan and many other.
