Mariam Fayyaz left Nawa-e-Waqt group and joins Hum News

One of the most promising names among the new lot broadcast journalists in Pakistan, Mariam Fayyaz has joined Hum News after leaving Waqt TV of Nawai Waqt Group.

Mariam shared this news on her social media:

Mariam is now part of Hum News as a news anchor and this is going to be her third stint at a national news channel after previously serving at Waqt News and 7News.

While talking to MediaSpringPK, she said:

“I am very thankful to Allah Almighty for giving me this opportunity. This is like a new beginning, new city, new workplace and journey with Hum News. I am looking forward to it as a key step that can lead to the higher avenues of my career”

Mariam Fayyaz holds an MSc degree in Communication Studies from Punjab University. She is currently pursuing her MPhil in Mass Communication from Punjab University.

She started her broadcast journalism career in 2015 when she joined Mohsin Naqvi group as a newscaster for City42 in May 2015. In June 2016, Mariam shifted to City 41, the news channel dedicated to Faisalabad news. Later in 2016, Mariam ended over a year-long journey with Mohsin Naqvi group by quitting City41 and joined Lahore-based national news channel 7 News Pakistan as a news anchor.

In 2017, Mariam joined Nawai Waqt group as News Anchor at Waqt TV. With her commitment, she became the prominent part of the channel and face of Waqt TV Newscast team.
