The renowned Pakistani film-maker, Mehreen Jabbar is all set for her new film venture, Dobara Phir Se. The primary photography for the film is almost complete and Mehreen is ready to return ti the sivelr screen after nearly a decade.
Mehreen Jabbar spoke with The Express Tribune about her come back to the films, she said:
“At that time [2008], there were not many cinemas in the country and most of the releases happening were mainly independent, such as Ramchand and Khuda Ke Liye.”
As per Mehreen, her eight years long break may have helped mend her own sense and receptivity as a filmmaker. She added:
“Even though I have been directing since 2004, I hope that my latest cinematic outing is an improvement upon my previous film. But everything aside, I feel that, at this stage of my career, I have become more experimental.”
44 years old filmmaker says that she has learnt from the tepid reception of Ramchand Pakistanit and she has ensured added commercial appeal in her upcoming love story. The strategy is ostensible in its cast, encompassing Adeel Hussain, Sanam Saeed and Hareem Farooq.
Major part of the film has been shot outdoor locations around New York and Connecticut. Dobara Phir Se is an ARY Films production and is going to release later this year. Haniya Aslam of Zeb and Haniya fame has composed the background music of the film; multiple singers like Jimmy Khan, Shiraz Uppal and Rekha Bhardwaj have lended their voice to the music.
