Mohammad Huraira Appointed Captain of Pakistan Shaheens for Sri Lanka ‘A’ Series in Rawalpindi

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced Mohammad Huraira as the captain of the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the upcoming two four-day and three 50-over matches against Sri Lanka ‘A’, set to take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 11 to 29 November.

The 22-year-old Huraira, a talented right-handed batter, brings an impressive record to the role, with 3,310 runs in 40 first-class matches, including eight centuries and 14 half-centuries. In List-A cricket, he has accumulated 632 runs in 25 matches, with a century and a half-century.

The PCB has also revealed the Shaheens squads for both formats, which feature Test pacers Mohammad Wasim Jnr and Khurram Shahzad, marking their return to competitive cricket following recent rehabilitations. Additionally, Hussain Talat joins the white-ball squad as the other international player, while Muhammad Ghazi Ghori and Ahmed Safi Abdullah earn their first call-ups to the Shaheens.

The squads include several players who have retained their places from the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup, such as Abdul Samad, Haider Ali, and Mohammad Haris. Newcomers Muhammad Imran, Sirajuddin, and Ubaid Shah have also joined the white-ball squad.

Training for the red-ball team will commence on 6 November, while the white-ball players will assemble in Islamabad on 22 November. Sri Lanka ‘A’ will arrive on 8 November to start preparations.
