PTV’s fast bowler Mohammad Shahzad stole the show on the opening day of the President’s Trophy Grade-One final against State Bank, taking a hat-trick and finishing with five wickets for 29 runs.
State Bank, who were put in to bat by PTV, were bowled out for 205 runs in their first innings. Imran Butt top-scored with 89 runs, while Rameez Aziz contributed 40.
Shahzad’s hat-trick, which included the wickets of Umar Amin, Fawad Alam, and Saud Shakeel, was the highlight of the day’s play. He also dismissed Irfan Niazi on the very next ball to complete his five-wicket haul.
In response, PTV ended the day at 49/3 in their first innings, with Waqar Hussain (21) and Mohammad Mohsin (13) at the crease.
The five-day night final is being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, using a pink ball.
