Islamabad United announced that coke studio season 9 sensation and singer Momina Mustehsan has joined the team as an ‘Empowerment Champion’.
Amna Naqvi, owner of Islamabad United, said the team had decided to include Momina into the ISLU family because Islamabad United takes it as their responsibility to foster more positive and progressive mindsets in our country.
She further added:
“Islamabad United feels strongly about the empowerment of women in Pakistan ─ it is something that Momina can be the face of. The grace with which Momina has conducted herself through her rapid rise, while maintaining her principles is pretty impressive. she is accessible to a wide audience through her use of social media. And the fact that she has used this platform to support societal change makes her an inspiration for the women of Pakistan. She is a resident of Islamabad and a fan of our team is just the cherry on top of the cake for us.”
Momina said she was honoured by the opportunity to aid in advancing gender equality in Pakistan. She added:
“The vision that Islamabad United have for social issues, particularly with their Empowerment Programs is something that I feel strongly about, and look forward to contributing to. In addition to that, there are some surprises in store for everyone with our anthem campaign.”
Momina is goingt to headline Islamabad United’s Women Empowerment Program which is slated to begin early 2017.
