A project of Sadia Jabbar Productions, and directed by Asim Ali, Mujhay Beta Chahiye is a serial that addresses a prevalent social issue of gender discrimination. The sixth episode brought some more troubles for Rubina and showed how much her life has changed after she gave birth to her third daughter.
Salman is now a completely different person from what he used to be before the birth of his third daughter. He was a loving and caring person before, but now he is nowhere near that. Not accepting their daughter as his own, he makes sure to humiliate Rubina every now and then, blaming her for things not in her hand. Things get worse when he insults Rubina at an office party in front of his friends and their wives, and comes back home leaving her behind.
In such a scenario, the villainous mother-daughter duo, Jahanara and Shareefan, take the chance to cunningly try and escalate the differences between him and his wife. Jahanara is a clever woman who knows very well how to manipulate and get a man’s attention, and she is successful in doing that.
As Salman returns from the office party in a rage, he finds Jahanara in Rubina’s black saree and gets attracted to her. At that very moment, Rubina enters the room and is shocked to find the two together, and in anger, she slaps Jahanara, which further angers Salman. Salman’s mother understands the game Shareefan and Jahanara are playing and kicks them out of the house. However, her efforts are in vain, as the two reach Salman’s office soon and he brings them back home.
Talking about the performances, Sabeen Hisbani portrays all the helpless expressions of Rubina really well and makes us sympathize with her. Shahood Alvi is also doing a great job and fits his role perfectly. However, Aiza Awan steals the show with the portrayal of Jahanara, as we find ourselves loathing her. She has an important role in the story and we will get to see her more in the coming episodes. Let’s see what more plans she has up her sleeves, to completely take Rubina’s place.
