Muqaddar in Review: Raima Grapples with her New Reality

How does one survive a seemingly unwinnable war? Well, try and survive each battle, limit the damage, take what comes your way, and just live day to day. Be an emotional war or an actual one. That is what the latest episode of Muqaddar taught us to some degree. Raima (Madiha Imam), in the face of tragedy, decides to find a way to survive.

So, she tries to befriend one of the servants of his new husband (Faisal Qureshi). She decides to obey the commands and survive for now. Seeing this, her husband also starts to trust her a little bit. Hence, she is rewarded with a trip home and meets her family. They are relieved but are also resigned to the fact that she is his wife now. Nothing can be done.

Whereas, Abeera (Shameen) starts dreaming about being with her boyfriend, rather than Saad (Haroon Shahid). She also dares to convey her thought to her father, who takes this as an insult and asserts that she will go through with her marriage at all costs. He tells her that she can have an off marriage relationship. This idea irks her mother, who laments the unfaithful ways of her husband quietly.

On the other hand, Saad continues to look (and yearn) for Raima, still unaware of the real story. Meanwhile, Haris’ neighbor is starting to show interest in him. She pops over daily and offers to help out in household chores. This can add another angle to an already twisted story.

The episode ends with Raima risking her goodwill gained so far. When asked if she met Haris, she boasts about meeting him, even though she hadn’t. Given what Sardar Saif has done, he is extremely insecure, and Raima tries to poke around that wound.

This leaves us at a tantalizing moment. For a while, it looked like that this marriage as agonizing as it maybe, might bring some relief for Raima. She has gone into survival mode and let go of emotions.

So next episode we might see some more anguish for the poor girl. As more people get involved, we might also see upheaval elsewhere. Things are heating up for sure.
