Mushtaq Ahmed’s brilliant nine-wicket match haul, including a decisive six-for in the second innings, powered Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) to a thrilling 29-run victory over Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) in the seventh round of the President’s Trophy Grade-1 at UBL Sports Complex.
Chasing 230, KRL collapsed dramatically, losing their last seven wickets for just 35 runs to be bowled out for 200 in 62.1 overs. Mushtaq was the architect of the collapse, finishing with figures of 6-82, while Muhammad Umar provided solid support with 4-62.
At SBP Sports Complex, Ghani Glass secured a five-wicket win over SNGPL. Chasing 176, they reached the target in just 35.2 overs, with Sharjeel Khan leading the charge with a quickfire 57 off 53 balls.
At NBP Sports Complex, WAPDA and Eshaal Associates played out a draw. Set a daunting target of 368, Eshaal Associates were 195/4 in 62 overs when the match ended. Mohammad Sudais top-scored with 56, while Danish Aziz remained unbeaten on 50.
At KCCA Stadium, Pakistan Television (PTV) dominated Higher Education Commission (HEC), securing an emphatic innings-and-94-run victory. PTV posted a formidable 425, thanks to contributions from Waqar Hussain (84) and Salman Khan Jnr (77), before bowling out HEC for 179 and 152 in their two innings.
