Comedy lovers can mark Eid-ul-Azha on their calendars for an extra treat this year. Renowned screenwriter and director Nabeel Qureshi, celebrated for his light-hearted yet thought-provoking films like “Actor in Law” and “Load Wedding,” has announced the release of a brand new film this Eid-ul-Azha: “Na Baligh Afraad.”
Qureshi took to his Instagram to reveal the upcoming film, teasing fans with an image of an old VHS tape titled “Na Baligh Afraad.” The director remained tight-lipped about the plot details, maintaining the mystery surrounding the new project. Following his announcement, the cast eagerly shared the same image on their Instagram handles, expressing their excitement.
Actors Samar Jafri, Aashir Wajahat, and Rimha Ahmad all posted the VHS poster on their Instagram, with Rimha captioning her post, “Super excited to be able to share this news with all of you! Na Baligh Afraad. Releasing this Eid-ul-Azha!!” accompanied by a party emoji. Fans flooded the comments section with enthusiasm, sharing sentiments like “Can’t wait!” and “So excited for this!”
Nearly ten years ago, in October 2014, Qureshi made his directorial debut with “Na Maloom Afraad,” an action-comedy that quickly became a hit. Shot in Karachi, the film was one of the few to be developed entirely in Pakistan. “Na Maloom Afraad” starred Javed Sheikh, Fahad Mustafa, and Mohsin Abbas Haider, supported by a cast including Urwa Hocane, Kubra Khan, and Salman Shahid. The film followed the comedic misadventures of Shakeel (Javed), Farhaan (Fahad), and Moon (Mohsin) as they pursued wealth through increasingly ludicrous schemes.
Three years later, the sequel “Na Maloom Afraad 2” brought back some of the original cast, this time setting the story in South Africa. Now, with “Na Baligh Afraad” on the horizon, it appears that Qureshi has assembled a fresh new cast for the latest installment. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if “Na Baligh Afraad” will capture the same comedic charm that made the previous films such hits.
With anticipation building and new talent on board, “Na Baligh Afraad” is set to be a highlight of this year’s Eid-ul-Azha celebrations.
