Naila Kiani Makes History as the First Pakistani Woman to Conquer Annapurna Peak in Nepal

Naila Kiani, a Pakistani mountaineer, has made history by scaling Annapurna, the tenth highest peak in the world at 8,091 meters above sea level in Nepal. Her remarkable achievement has made her the first Pakistani woman to reach the summit of Annapurna.

Naila, who was part of a six-member team that included young Pakistani climber Shehroze Kashif and Indian climber Arjun Vajpai, reached the summit on Monday morning. This climb also marked her fourth successful ascent of a peak over 8,000 meters, making her the first Pakistani woman to achieve this feat.

Naila is now setting her sights on two more peaks: Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, and Lhotse peak. She plans to summit both peaks later this year.

In 2021, Naila successfully climbed her third peak over 8,000m, Gasherbrum-1, despite facing extreme weather conditions between the C2 and C3 points. She had previously summited K2 in July and scaled Gasherbrum-II in 2021.

Notably, Naila got married at the base camp of K2 in 2018 before starting her climbing career, which has taken her to new heights. Her achievements in mountaineering are an inspiration to all those who dream of conquering the world’s highest peaks.
