Najibullah Zadran, Dasun Shanaka, and Sikandar Raza Shine in Thrilling Encounters in Zim Afro T10

On an action-packed Day 4 of the second season of the Zim Afro T10, cricket fans were treated to electrifying performances by Najibullah Zadran, Dasun Shanaka, and Sikandar Raza at the Harare Sports Club. While the spotlight was initially on David Warner, it was these players who delivered match-winning performances to lead their teams to victory. The NYS Lagos, Harare Bolts, and Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers secured comfortable wins, with the Bolts maintaining their position at the top of the points table.

In the first match of the day, NYS Lagos posted an imposing total of 134/5 in their 10 overs. Although they lost Rassie van der Dussen early, Avishka Fernando’s 36 and a blistering knock of 43 from Najibullah Zadran, which included a remarkable 33-run over, set the tone. Contributions from Ryan Burl (22) and Joshua Bishop (18) added to the total. In response, the Durban Wolves had a strong start thanks to Sharjeel Khan’s scintillating 59, but regular wickets stifled their progress. Regis Chakabva’s unbeaten 27 wasn’t enough to save the Wolves as they fell 10 runs short, ending on 124/5.

Next, the Harare Bolts took on Bulawayo Brave Jaguars, who struggled to get going with the bat, managing only 96/8 in their 10 overs. Nick Hobson (35) and Anamul Haque (22) were the top scorers, but impressive bowling by Shehan Jayasuriya (2/6) and Richard Gleeson (2/19) kept them in check. Chasing a modest total, the Bolts faced some early challenges as Daryn Dupavillon (2/7) and Akila Dananjaya (1/20) picked up wickets, but an unbeaten 47 from Dasun Shanaka, who smashed four consecutive sixes, took the Bolts home with a 7-wicket win in just 7.4 overs.

In the final game of the day, Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers bowled out Cape Town Samp Army for 82/7 in their 10 overs, with Sikandar Raza starring with the ball, taking 3/9. Rohan Mustafa’s 28 was the only significant contribution for Samp Army. In the chase, Sikandar Raza continued his stellar performance, scoring an unbeaten 64 as the Tigers comfortably reached the target with five wickets in hand and more than an over to spare, finishing on 84/5.
