The event celebrated PCB’s commitment to modernizing cricket facilities, enhancing player and spectator experience, and preparing for future international tournaments, including the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The newly constructed pavilion, completed in a record time of four months, features state-of-the-art dressing rooms for players and match officials, alongside world-class hospitality rooms. The rapid transformation reflects PCB’s efficiency and dedication to elevating cricketing standards in Pakistan.
Additionally, several major upgrades were unveiled at National Bank Stadium, including:
- Installation of 350 LED lights to enhance broadcast quality.
- Two new digital replay screens for an improved spectator experience.
- Over 5,000 new seats added for enhanced spectator comfort.
The inauguration event was personally overseen by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who played a pivotal role in ensuring the project’s timely completion. He made multiple visits to the stadium throughout the renovation process, supervising a workforce of nearly 5,000 dedicated individuals who worked tirelessly to modernize the venue.
During the event, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his pride and appreciation for the hard-working individuals behind this transformation. In his address, he stated:
“This upgrade is a testament to our vision of elevating Pakistan’s cricketing venues to international standards. The National Bank Stadium, which last saw a major overhaul during the 1996 World Cup, now stands as a modern, world-class facility that will not only host domestic and international matches but also provide players and fans with a top-tier experience.
The incredible workforce behind this transformation deserves immense appreciation. Their hard work has made it possible for us to proudly present the National Bank Stadium as a world-class venue, ready to welcome top cricketing action.”
As a gesture of gratitude, a special reception was hosted for the workers at 5:30 PM at National Bank Stadium, recognizing their commitment and contribution to the project.
The National Stadium has long been a historic venue, producing some of Pakistan’s finest cricketing talents. With these modern enhancements, PCB aims to provide an exceptional experience for players, officials, and fans alike, setting a new benchmark for cricketing venues in Pakistan.
In line with its vision of fostering the next generation of cricketers, PCB encouraged parents to bring young children to matches, cultivating a love for the game from an early age. By creating a world-class cricketing atmosphere, Pakistan continues to position itself as a premier destination for international cricket.
This transformation aligns with PCB’s broader strategy of modernizing cricket venues across the country, ensuring that Pakistan remains at the forefront of global cricketing excellence.
