The National Men’s U19 Championship and Cup, scheduled to begin on September 10, 2024, have been postponed indefinitely due to unavoidable circumstances. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made the announcement on the first day of the championship, leaving 18 regional teams in limbo.
The championship featured 98 matches across 61 days, with 18 teams divided into three groups . The postponement has raised concerns about the impact on the young players’ chances of selection for the Pakistan U19 team for the upcoming tri-nation 50-over series in November in UAE and the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2024.
The PCB has not yet announced a new schedule for the championship and cup. The postponement has come as a disappointment to fans and players alike, who were looking forward to the tournament.
