Green Entertainment’s Nauroz debuted its first episode with a bang, captivating the audience with a thrilling blend of dystopian horror and an intriguing storyline.
The episode begins with Shamyl Khan’s character, Ramish Khan, sharing a post-apocalyptic story with his daughter, setting the stage for an immersive narrative. The shocking reveal that the year is 2046 immediately grabs the viewers’ attention, leaving them questioning the truth behind Ramish and his wife’s words. Drawing inspiration from Rapunzel, the show presents a girl confined to a closed room, her only connection to the outside world being her parents’ stories.
The episode takes a Disney-esque turn as the young girl, played by Mawra Hocane, grows into a twenty-year-old within the confines of her room. It is then revealed that the year is not far in the future, but the present day of 2023. The mother’s demise adds to the Disney parallels and further intrigues the audience.
The episode concludes with a dramatic twist involving Ramish’s childhood friend, Armaghan, who is trapped in an unhappy marriage, engages in an extramarital affair with a singer, and eventually marries her. When faced with the threat of honor killing, Armaghan entrusts his daughter to Ramish’s care before succumbing to a heart attack caused by family abuse.
The performances by Shamyl Khan and Mawra Hocane are exceptional. Khan portrays Ramish with heartfelt emotions, delivering impactful scenes throughout. Hocane shines in her portrayal of a young woman who has never experienced the outside world, effortlessly capturing the innocence and wonder of her character.
With a strong opening, Nauroz promises an engaging storyline. The shocking revelations have set the stage for an intriguing journey, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating what lies ahead for the father-daughter duo.
