Model turned actor Areeba Habib’s newest drama Nehar will be tackling the menace of dowries. The drama will air on Hum TV. Habib was last seen in dramas Janbaaz and Jalan.
In the upcoming drama, she will play the character Komal. She recently gave us a glimpse of Komal on Instagram.
In an interview, Areeba Habib explained how the storyline tackles the issue of dowry.
She said:
“This drama focuses on our national issue of jahez and the rivalry it creates. It is a major topic in the drama. It’s not about any sister rivalries; it’s about the pressure parents feel from the boy’s family when they are trying to marry their daughters off. I’m sure viewers will love the drama because of its different story. Drama’s don’t usually address the issue of dowry.”
Nehar is being directed by Ali Hassan and produced by Momina Duraid’s MD Productions. The cast includes actors Saboor Aly, Osama Tahir and comedian turned actor Syed Shafaat Ali.
