The fourth season of Nescafe Basement was launched with a fun evening held at X2 cafe in Lahore, attended by the press as well as stars such as Bilal Lashari, Ali Noor, Ali Hamza, Munib Nawaz, Nabeel Shaukat, Kami Paul and Nouman Javed, who got a an exclusive first look at #NescafeBasement4.

The attendees were shown previews of two songs from the first episode of #NescafeBasement4 which will be going on-air soon on all leading entertainment TV channels. The songs were covers of Jadoo Ka Chiraag by Awaz and Tere Jeya Hor Disda by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, which was indeed an interesting selection. The live performances by the talent were a sheer delight to watch, especially the instrumental by brothers Haroon and Sharoon who play the guitar and violin respectively.

Nestle Pakistan launched this platform 3 years ago with the promise of discovering young passionate musicians from across Pakistan and nurturing their creative aspirations. Nescafe Basement has been the stepping stone for several young aspiring musicians’ journey towards mainstream music industry. To date they have introduced 45 new artists to the music industry of Pakistan and post this season they intend to introduce 45 more.

In the fourth season of NescafeBasement, these young, aspiring 45 artists have performed their original songs as well as paid tribute to musicians whose songs have shaped the Pakistani music industry. The talent has performed cover versions of these iconic songs by infusing a certain freshness to them which will bring new appeal to the songs, while retaining their original spirit. together vigorously for nearly two months to polish their skills under the guidance of mentor and music producer Xulfi, before ultimately recording this season.
Xulfi promises that a lot of inspiring stories will find a voice through this season. “I am proud to say that through Nescafe Basement, several talented musicians have found an opportunity to explore different avenues of music such as playing in bands, going across the border and singing for local productions. This season, not only will the audience get to hear some exceptional music but also see a lot of emotional and heart stirring stories from behind-the-scenes. The best thing about this platform is that it brings together young aspiring musicians of different backgrounds and bonds them with their mutual passion for music. We have the biggest line-up with 45 musicians this year which has given us the freedom to experiment even more. It won’t be wrong to say this is the most exciting season of Nescafe Basement I have worked on so far” Xulfi states.
“I have been playing the bass for 6 years and have been a part of all previous seasons of Nescafe Basement. The show helped me start my career as a musician, and also meet several other talented musicians. I am super excited for the fourth season!” said Haider Abbas, one of the musicians to be featured in Nescafe Basement 4.
