The team MediaSpringPk reached out to Ayesha Ehtesham know about what happened on the show and her responsibility as a broadcast journalist. The team asked the following questions.

Ayesha says that the producers and she decide whom to invite on a certain topic:

“We made a balanced panel by adding people from both the extremes and Khalil-ur-Reman was added as an intellectual.”

“In debates, time cannot be specified for each participant but time is allocated for each segment of the show,” said the anchor when asked if the panel was briefed about the allocated time.

When asked if the anchor think both the parties were responsible for what happened, She replied:

“Yes, both the parties were equally responsible, as they prolonged the dispute. Marvi Sirmed was not letting Khalil-ur-Rehman to speak so his reaction was on her action.”

“Such kind of abusive language must not be used in any TV show,” she added.

Talking about her initial reaction and what do you think should be the line of action for an anchor in such situation Ayesha said:

“Obviously no anchor expects such kind of actions on the show, so I was really shocked. I think if you can’t stop both the opponents, so the best option is to announce the break.”

Ayesha says that she will not be hosting Marvi Sirmed and Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar together again in her show:

“An anchor never wants to face such issues from his platform. I have invited Marvi Sirmed on my show many times on different shows and I will if need be, invite both of them again but not in the same show.”
