Pakistan beat West Indies to level Test series 1-1

Shaheen Shah Afridi bagged four wickets as Pakistan bowled out West Indies for 219 and win the second Test by 109 runs to level the series 1-1.

The left-arm pacer registered his best bowling figures (10-94) in Test cricket.

After lunch on Day 5, West Indies lost their well-set skipper Kraigg Brathwaite to Nauman Ali with Fawad Alam taking a simple catch at point. Nauman’s breakthrough took Pakistan closer to equalize the Test series 1-1.

Jason Holder fought hard with his 47 runs but Nauman did the trick to pick him up in the twilight phase of the day.

Skipper Brathwaite survived on a dropped catch and put a fight for West Indies as they scored 113/5 till Lunch on the last day of the second Test.

Set to chase 329, West Indies were unlucky to lose their opener Kieran Powell for 23 on a run-out as they finished Day 4 at 49-1.

Coming out to bat on the last day, the hosts lost night watchman Alzarri Joseph in quick time. Shaheen Shah Afridi provided an early breakthrough to Pakistan who were looking to level the series.

Hasan Ali followed the footsteps of Afridi and bagged Nkrumah Bonner on an LBW to reduce West Indies 69-3. It was Hasan who sighed relief to Pakistan after Abid dropped Brathwaite. He removed Roston Chase for naught to put Pakistan in the driving seat.

Brathwaite looked to rebuild the inning with Jermaine Blackwood as they scored 28 runs together. But, it took no long for Pakistan to break this partnership as Nauman Ali struck Blackwood. He edged the ball behind the stumps to walk back to the pavilion.

Shaheen bagged four wickets in the second inning whereas Nauman took three. Hasan took two scalps.
