The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be the neutral venue for India’s matches in the upcoming Champions Trophy, scheduled to take place in Pakistan next year.
According to PCB spokesperson Aamir Mir, the decision was finalized after a meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and UAE Cricket Board’s head Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan in Ghotki on Saturday night.
The PCB has formally informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the neutral venue, putting an end to the uncertainty surrounding India’s participation in the tournament.
As per the agreement, India and Pakistan will play their Champions Trophy matches in the UAE. This decision is part of a broader agreement between the PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which states that all future ICC events hosted by either country will be played at neutral venues until 2027.
The Champions Trophy is scheduled to begin next year, with the exact dates and timings of the matches to be announced soon. The ICC had earlier announced that the Men’s 2025 Champions Trophy would be held under a hybrid model, with India playing their matches at a neutral venue rather than in the host country.
