Pakistan Cricket Team Condemns Abuse from Spectators in Mount Maunganui

The Pakistan cricket team management has strongly condemned the abusive behavior of foreign spectators during today’s match, where players were subjected to inappropriate remarks and anti-Pakistan slogans.

The incident occurred when a group of spectators, reportedly Afghan nationals, directed offensive language at Pakistani cricketers on the field. At one point, all-rounder Khushdil Shah intervened, urging the crowd to refrain from such behavior. However, the situation escalated as some spectators responded with further abusive remarks in Pashto.

Following a formal complaint from the Pakistani team, stadium officials took action, identifying and ejecting two individuals responsible for the disruption.

Team management emphasized the importance of respect and sportsmanship, stating that such incidents have no place in cricket. “Our players showed restraint, but abuse from spectators is unacceptable,” a spokesperson said.

No further disturbances were reported after the ejections, and the match proceeded without further incident. Authorities have yet to comment on whether additional measures will be taken to prevent similar occurrences in future games.
