In a one-sided affair, Pakistan Shaheens clinched an innings victory against Zimbabwe A on the fourth day of the second four-day match at the Mutare Sports Club in Mutare. The visitors wrapped up the match by taking the remaining three wickets in just 9.3 overs as Zimbabwe A could only add 37 runs to their overnight score of 238 for seven in 76 overs.
For Pakistan Shaheens, Mohammad Ali, the right-arm fast, took three wickets for 49 runs, ending up with match figures of seven for 85. Shahnawaz Dahani and Aamir Jamal snapped two wickets each in the second innings.
Zimbabwe A’s first innings had ended at 163 all out in 56.4 overs, with Tadiwanashe Marumani scoring 66 and Dion Myers 50. Mohammad Ali claimed four wickets for 36 runs, Mehran Mumtaz took three for 36, and Aamir Jamal took three for 51.
Pakistan Shaheens had earlier declared their first innings at 479 for all out in 116 overs, with Haseebullah contributing 117, Hussain Talat 74, Omair Bin Yousuf 65, Mohammad Huraira 64, Qasim Akram 36, Aamir Jamal 35, and Imran Butt 27. Victor Nyauchi claimed five wickets for 125 runs, while Tanaka Chivanga took three wickets for 89.
With this win, Pakistan Shaheens have completed a clean sweep over Zimbabwe A across the two four-day matches. They had won the first four-day match by eight wickets, played at the Kwekwe Sports Club in Kwekwe from 3-6 May.
Pakistan Shaheens will now take on Zimbabwe’s national side in the six-match one-day series starting from 17 May in Harare.
