Pakistan Shaheens Secure Four-Wicket Victory Against Melbourne Renegades

Pakistan Shaheens continued their strong performance in the Top End T20 Series, clinching a four-wicket win against Melbourne Renegades in their fourth match of the tournament. This marks the Shaheens’ third victory in four matches, having previously defeated Perth Scorchers by 17 runs and Tasmania Tigers by five wickets. Their only loss came against Melbourne Stars, where they were beaten by 47 runs.

Winning the toss, Pakistan Shaheens opted to field first, and their decision paid off as Melbourne Renegades were bowled out for 107 runs in 18.3 overs. The Renegades struggled to find stability, losing wickets at regular intervals, and were reduced to 67/7 at one stage. Jay Limmer was the top scorer for the Renegades with 23 runs, while Blake McDonald contributed 18 runs.

Pakistan’s bowlers were exceptional, with Jahandad Khan leading the charge, taking 3 wickets for 19 runs. Arif Yaqoob, Imran Junior, and Faisal Akram each chipped in with two wickets, further dismantling the Renegades’ batting lineup.

In response, Pakistan Shaheens chased down the target in 18 overs, scoring 113/6. Despite losing two early wickets, with Sahibzada Farhan dismissed for 4 and captain Mohammad Haris for 17, the Shaheens held their nerve. Usman Khan was the standout performer with the bat, scoring a vital 38 runs, including a six and a four. Umair Bin Yousuf also made a significant contribution, scoring 25 runs with one six and two fours.

Jahandad Khan sealed the victory in style, hitting a six off Harris’ delivery to guide his team to a comfortable win.

Pakistan Shaheens will play their fifth match of the series against Bangladesh A on 16 August.
