Pakistan Strike Force Camp Begins at NCA Lahore

The Pakistan Strike Force Training Camp has commenced today at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Lahore, aiming to enhance the hard-hitting and modern batting skills of domestic and international players. This initiative is part of a long-term programme designed to groom elite and emerging players for the challenges of modern-day cricket.

The camp will run in two phases:

  • 14-30 January at NCA, Lahore
  • 1-28 February at the Multan Cricket Stadium

The Strike Force programme will continue throughout the year, with periodic invitations extended to talented players.

Coaching Team

Former international cricketer Abdul Razzaq, known for his destructive batting and 168 sixes during a stellar 17-year international career, leads the camp as head coach. Assisting him are:

  • Humayun Farhat (former Test cricketer)
  • Kamran Sajid (former first-class cricketer)

The coaching staff is further supported by Yasir Malik (trainer), Suliman Azhar (data analyst), and Shahbaz Aajiz (throwdown specialist).

Objectives and Focus Areas

The 25 players will receive mentorship on:

  • Performing under pressure.
  • Building core strength for consistent power-hitting.
  • Strategising a balance between aggression and restraint in high-stakes games.

With a packed international schedule leading up to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, two T20I World Cups, and an ICC Cricket World Cup, this camp also aims to bolster Pakistan’s bench strength and prepare players for future bilateral series.

Seven players with international experience are part of the camp:
Haider Ali, Jahandad Khan, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mubasir Khan, Muhammad Irfan Khan, and Usman Khan.
