Pakistan Television Launches Free Streaming Service, PTV Flix

Pakistan Television (PTV) has announced the launch of PTV Flix, a free, over-the-top (OTT) streaming service that will provide viewers with access to the broadcaster’s vast library of content. This makes PTV the first TV station in the country to offer an OTT platform. The streaming service will offer a treasure trove of archive content, including TV shows, dramas, documentaries, and sports programmes. The platform will be available on both Android and iOS devices.

PTV Flix: A Gold Mine of Content

Information and Broadcasting Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that PTV has over 60 years of archive content that is now digitalized and available for streaming. She stated that PTV Flix is a gold mine of content that includes dramas and shows that have become a part of the nation’s collective memory. The project was initiated in July 2020 by Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government and has finally been launched.

Viewers will have to register on the platform to access the content, but it will be free of charge. The launch of PTV Flix has been greeted with delight by Aurangzeb, who expressed her gratitude to the ministry and the PTV team for their hard work in bringing this idea to fruition. She also thanked actors Bushra Ansari, Javed Sheikh, and Khalid Abbas Dar for their participation in the inaugural ceremony.
