Pakistan Women’s Probables Begin Preparations for West Indies Series

The Pakistan women’s cricket team’s probables camp for the upcoming series against West Indies commenced today at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi. A group of 20 players are participating in the camp, gearing up for the bilateral series consisting of three ODIs and five T20Is.

Interim head coach Mauhtashim Rashid expressed optimism about the camp, highlighting the team’s focus on fitness improvement following their recent series against New Zealand. He emphasized the addition of new coaches to the support staff, aiming to enhance the team’s performance in the upcoming series.

Rashid also acknowledged the positive impact of the domestic season on player performance, noting the inclusion of players who excelled in the T20 domestic event. With the organization of a one-day tournament this month, Rashid anticipates healthy competition among national and junior players, contributing to the expansion of the player pool.

The camp’s structure emphasizes skill development, with plans to challenge players through various match scenarios and practice games. This approach aims to help players refine their skills and achieve set targets in preparation for the West Indies series.

The squad will undergo training in Karachi until April 8 before dispersing to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with their families. They will reconvene in Karachi on April 13 to intensify preparations for the series, which is scheduled to commence on April 18.
