The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to begin tomorrow in the UAE, featuring 10 teams competing over 18 days for cricketing glory. The Pakistan women’s cricket team, captained by Fatima Sana, is placed in Group ‘A’ alongside formidable opponents Australia, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. Group ‘B’ comprises Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies.

In their opening match, Pakistan will face Sri Lanka at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, with the first ball scheduled for 7 PM PKT. A highly anticipated clash against arch-rivals India will follow on 6 October at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS). The team will also take on defending champions Australia on 11 October and conclude their group stage against New Zealand on 14 October, both at DICS.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on 17 and 18 October, with the tournament final set for 20 October at DICS, starting at 6 PM local time.

Prior to the tournament, Pakistan engaged in warm-up matches against Scotland and Bangladesh, along with various practice sessions to acclimatize to local conditions. The series against South Africa at home before coming to the UAE helped us know our strengths and allowed our batters to show their form.
