Pakistan’s biggest family festival, the Kenwood Masala Family Festival 2016, held at the Karachi Expo Center on February 13 and 14 attracted a huge number of visitors from all corners of the city.
The bi-annual event is one of the most anticipated family festivals of year that provides Karachiites an opportunity to spend a perfect day out with their families, meet their favourite actors and chefs, shop to their heart’s content, purchase cookbooks of their favourite chefs and win exciting prizes throughout the course of the festival.
The main highlights of this year’s festival included live cooking demonstrations by the Masala chefs, Interactive sessions with actors and chefs, Kenwood lucky draw, magic shows, vintage cars show, live performances by the Pakistani Amitabh Bachan and Pervez Bachan who performed on some of the legendary Amitabh Bachan’s most famous dialogues. This year the audiences were treated to a surprise visit by the lead cast & crew of drama serial Pakeeza and Bachaana the movie including Sanam Saeed, Mohib Mirza, Adeel Hashmi, Aamna Sheikh and other cast and crew.

The other highlight of Masala Family Festival Lahore was the kids’ arena, providing entertainment to kids of all ages. The huge and beautifully set-up kids’ arena had wide ranging fun options, from jumping castles to floating ship to Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, train rides and cats & dogs show to keep them occupied.
Visitors also had a field day shopping as all major FMCG companies including Kenwood, Knorr, Shakarganj, Mehran, Nauras International, Ufone, Mezban, Nimco and many, many more brands were part of the event, selling everything from household appliances, food items and crockery to jewellery, clothing and much more. To satiate the appetites of the visitors, the organisers had arranged for lots of food and drinks stalls as well. The festival concluded on a high note with performance by underground bands along with Hasan Jahangir who performed to audiences’ requests and received applause and appreciation from the attendees.
