PCB Announces Champions T20 Cup 2024 with 22 Matches at Rawalpindi

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the Champions T20 Cup 2024, set to run from 7 to 25 December at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Five teams—Stallions, Dolphins, Panthers, Lions, and Markhors—will battle it out in a 22-match tournament featuring a revamped format designed to intensify the competition.

The tournament follows the success of the Champions Cup 50-over tournament, where the Panthers defeated the Markhors in a thrilling final in Faisalabad.

Tournament Highlights

• Venue: Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
• Matches: 22 games over 19 days, including 6 double-headers
• Timings: Double-headers at 11am and 3.30pm; single-headers at 12pm
• Format:
  • Table-topper after the double-league stage advances directly to the final.
  • Second and third-placed teams play a Qualifier on 23 December.
  • The Final is scheduled for 25 December at 3.30pm.

Platform for Emerging Talent

The Champions T20 Cup aims to provide a stage for emerging cricketers to impress selectors and attract Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises as they prepare for the 2025 season.

Rescheduling Adjustments

To accommodate the Champions T20 Cup, the PCB has rescheduled the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy’s final triangular stage and final match, now slated for 27-31 December and 2-6 January, respectively.
