The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the structure and schedule of the President’s Trophy Grade-II three-day non-first-class tournament, slated to take place from May 12 to June 11 in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This significant event, marking the return of departmental cricket to the national circuit after the 2018-2019 season, will feature 24 teams evenly distributed across four pools. The top performers from each pool will advance to the semifinals, with the winners securing a spot in the final showdown.
Here’s a breakdown of the participating teams and their respective pools:
- Pool A: Ahmad Glass, Income Tax, Khayaban-e-Amin, Pakistan Railways, Service Industries, TARA Group (Matches to be held in Lahore)
- Pool B: Haidery Traders, JJ’s Consultancy Group, Karwan CC, MiT Solutions, Pak-Saudi International, Sabir’s Poultry (Matches to be held in various Khyber Pakhtunkhwa venues)
- Pool C: Capital Development Authority, JDW Sugar Mills Ltd, OGDCL, Omar Associates, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force (Matches to be held in Islamabad)
- Pool D: Azlaan Traders, Eshaal Associates, Ghani Institute, MAQ Group, Pakistan Navy, Sardar Group (Matches to be held in Sheikhupura, Valencia Town Lahore, and Muridke)
The tournament will kick off with the first round of matches scheduled from May 12 to May 14, featuring captivating encounters across all pools. Venues for the subsequent matches, including the semifinals and final, will be confirmed in due course.
