PCB Announces Regional Skills Development Camps for U19 Cricketers

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the commencement of countrywide Regional Skills Development camps for men’s U19 cricketers, set to begin on 4 August. The initiative aims to nurture the next generation of cricketers by providing intensive training and development opportunities across 16 regions.

Each of the 18 regional teams will conduct separate camps, with 20 players participating from each side. The selection process will include top performers from last season’s national U19 tournaments and standout players from this year’s district cricket tournament.

The four-week-long camps will focus on enhancing skills, game awareness, technical proficiency, and introducing a standardized fitness culture at the U19 level.
Workshop for Regional Coaches

Ahead of the camps, a workshop was held at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Friday, led by Director of High Performance Nadeem Khan. The workshop provided regional coaches with insights into the coaching philosophies of men’s white-ball and red-ball head coaches, Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie, respectively.

Nadeem Khan emphasized the importance of technical, tactical, fitness, and fielding training aligned with the philosophies of Kirsten and Gillespie, aiming to transform U19 players into highly competitive athletes.
Director’s Statement

Director of High Performance Nadeem Khan stated:

“In today’s workshop before the commencement of the regional U19 skills camps, we have directed the coaches to work on technical aspects, tactical prowess, fitness, and fielding of the U19 players as per Jason and Gary’s philosophy.
