The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, arrived at Gaddafi Stadium to boost the morale of the national cricket team ahead of their upcoming tour to Ireland and England for the T20 World Cup. He spent two hours with the players, engaging in discussions about the strategies for the game.
During the meeting, Chairman Naqvi announced a prize money of $100,000 for each player in the event of winning the T20 World Cup. He emphasized that the significance of this prize money would be unparalleled in the face of Pakistan’s victory. Naqvi expressed hope that the players would raise the flag of the green crescent high, play without any pressure, engage in fierce competition, and bring victory home. He reiterated that the win would be for the players and a loss for him.
Chairman Naqvi urged the players not to be concerned about anything other than playing for Pakistan. He encouraged them to exhibit teamwork on the field, assuring them that success would be theirs. He emphasized that all players were united and standing together.
Shahid Afridi assured of a stellar performance in the World Cup. The nation has high expectations from you. You have to deliver,” he said. “You need to give your all.”
Chairman Naqvi highlighted the promotion of domestic cricket from schools to universities. He awarded a special green shirt to Mohammad Rizwan for completing 3000 runs in T20 matches and gave a green shirt to Nasim Shah for taking 100 wickets in T20 matches.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi ensured the resolution of players’ issues on a priority basis. Selectors Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Yousuf, Captain Babar Azam, Assistant Coach Azhar Mahmood, and Director of International Cricket Usman Wahla were also present on the occasion.
Chairman PCB also hosted a luncheon in honor of the players and officials at a local hotel.
