PCB Chairman Announces Floodlights Installation at Bugti Stadium, Quetta

PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi made significant announcements during his visit to Quetta on Tuesday, reaffirming the board’s commitment to enhance cricket infrastructure and support players ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup.

During his visit to the Bugti Stadium, Naqvi pledged to install floodlights within three months, aiming to improve the stadium’s facilities and ensure the best arrangements for cricket tournaments in Quetta and across Balochistan. Accompanied by former interim prime minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, Naqvi emphasized the importance of revitalizing the stadium to promote cricket in the region.

Naqvi’s visit to Quetta follows his recent announcement regarding substantial rewards for the national team in case of victory at the T20 World Cup. During a meeting at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Naqvi reiterated his support for the players, highlighting the significance of their performance in bringing pride to the country.

Addressing the players, Naqvi encouraged them to play fearlessly and uphold the spirit of teamwork. He expressed confidence in Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi’s abilities, assuring that Afridi would shine in the upcoming World Cup.

Acknowledging the achievements of wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and pacer Naseem Shah, Naqvi presented special green shirts to honor their milestones in T20 cricket. Rizwan was recognized for surpassing 3000 runs in T20Is, while Naseem Shah was celebrated for reaching 100 wickets in T20 matches.

Naqvi also affirmed the PCB’s commitment to address players’ concerns promptly, prioritizing their well-being and ensuring a conducive environment for their development. The presence of notable figures like Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Yousuf, Babar Azam, Azhar Mahmood, and Usman Wahla underscored the significance of Naqvi’s interactions with the cricketing community, reflecting the board’s collaborative efforts to propel Pakistani cricket to new heights.
