PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Reviews Preparations for Champions Cup in Faisalabad

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi chaired a high-level meeting at the National Cricket Academy to review preparations for the upcoming Champions League Cup, set to be held at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. The meeting focused on ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place for the successful hosting of the tournament, which will feature the country’s top cricketing talent.

During the meeting, Chairman Naqvi emphasized the importance of the tournament in promoting domestic cricket and uncovering new talent. He expressed his excitement about bringing top-level cricket back to Faisalabad, a city known for its passionate cricket fans. “The residents of Faisalabad have a deep love for cricket, and after a long time, the best players of Pakistan will be seen in action in a major tournament in Faisalabad. The Champions League Cup will not only bring forward new talent but will also strengthen domestic cricket. The entire team must work responsibly for the success of the Champions League Cup,” said Naqvi.

In a move to encourage local support and enthusiasm, it was announced that cricket fans will be able to attend all matches free of charge, except for the last four matches of the tournament. This decision aligns with the PCB’s commitment to making cricket accessible to fans and fostering a strong connection between the sport and its supporters.

The meeting also included an update on the fitness preparations of the players, with officials confirming that the fitness test phase for the Champions League Cup teams has been successfully completed.

The meeting was attended by key PCB officials, including Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza, Advisor Bilal Afzal, Director Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi, and other senior members of the board.

With the Champions League Cup just around the corner, all eyes will be on Faisalabad as it gears up to host what promises to be a thrilling and competitive tournament.
