The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to curtail the National Women’s One-Day Tournament 2024-25 following a fire incident at the team hotel in Karachi.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the PCB swiftly evacuated the five players present at the hotel during the incident. They were safely relocated to the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre.
The decision to shorten the tournament was made prioritizing player safety and health. The PCB also faced challenges in securing alternative accommodations that met the required standard of approximately 100 rooms for the teams and officials.
As a result, the tournament winner will be decided through a final match between the Invincibles and the Stars, the top two teams after the first four rounds of matches. The date and venue for the final will be announced soon.
The PCB reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the well-being of all players and staff while expressing gratitude for the quick response during the emergency.
