The final round of the PCB Inter-club Tournament is set to begin on Thursday, December 5, featuring the top 16 club sides from across Pakistan in a thrilling knockout competition. Matches will be held at eight venues nationwide, with the ultimate champion crowned after a series of 15 games culminating in the second week of December.
This year’s tournament marks a significant step in the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) efforts to revitalize grassroots cricket. The journey began in May with 3,388 clubs participating in 6,143 league matches across 101 districts in 16 regions. District winners advanced to the second round in October, where 87 knockout matches determined the top clubs in each region. These 16 champions now compete for ultimate glory in the final round.
PCB Chair Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the tournament’s importance in nurturing grassroots talent.
“The club cricket tournament aims to revive the competitive culture at the grassroots level in Pakistan. Club cricket is the heart and soul of every strong cricketing nation, and we will continue to invest in and promote thousands of clubs to provide great opportunities for young players to embark on their cricketing journeys,” Naqvi said.
The initiative underscores PCB’s commitment to fostering cricket talent in the 16 talent-rich regions, offering a structured pathway for aspiring players.
