PCB Secures Naming Rights for Three Champions Cup Sides

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has successfully secured naming rights for three of the five teams participating in the Champions One-Day Cup. The commercial partnerships were announced today as the tournament prepares for its opening match.

Nurpur has acquired the naming rights for the Lions, officially renaming them as the Nurpur Lions. Allied Bank has secured the rights for the Stallions, who will now be known as the Allied Bank Stallions. Additionally, the University of Management and Technology (UMT) has taken over sponsorship of the Wolves, rebranding them as the UMT Markhors.

Discussions regarding the naming rights of the remaining two teams, the Dolphins and Panthers, are still ongoing, with the PCB confident of announcing their sponsors soon.

The PCB’s initiative to involve commercial partners aims to elevate the profile of domestic cricket in Pakistan, offering greater visibility and investment in the game. This move is also part of the broader strategy to build stronger team identities, providing opportunities for companies to align themselves with the growth of cricket in the country.
