The Ufone 4G Presents Zalmi Women Cricket League concluded on a high note, celebrating the immense talent and determination of women cricketers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Organized by Peshawar Zalmi in partnership with Ufone 4G, the tournament served as a dynamic platform for women’s empowerment and societal progress, leaving a lasting impact on the region’s sporting landscape.
The league was launched with an electrifying opening ceremony attended by dignitaries such as Provincial Sports Minister Syed Fakhar Jahan, Provincial Education Minister Meena Khan Afridi, and Director of Cricketing Affairs Mohammad Akram. Eight teams competed in the group stages, delivering thrilling cricket performances. The Hazara Daffodils, Peshawar Thunderbolts, Peshawar All Stars, and Mardan Mavericks emerged as the top four teams.
In the semi-finals, the Hazara Daffodils narrowly defeated Peshawar Thunderbolts by 13 runs, securing their place in the final. The Peshawar All Stars showcased their dominance by outclassing Mardan Mavericks with a nine-wicket victory, displaying their all-around strength.
The much-anticipated final saw the Peshawar All Stars face off against the Hazara Daffodils in a gripping encounter. The All Stars emerged victorious with a commanding seven-wicket win, clinching the trophy and marking their dominance in the inaugural league. The final match exemplified the talent, determination, and sportsmanship of women cricketers in the region.
The league celebrated outstanding individual contributions during its closing ceremony, attended by notable figures like Chief Guest Barrister Saif, Director of Cricketing Affairs Mohammad Akram, and Arshad Khan, Secretary to the Chief Minister.
