The stage is set for an intense battle as Peshawar and Karachi Whites are poised to lock horns in the much-awaited final clash of the Pakistan Cup 2023-24 on 19th November at Rawalpindi’s Pindi Stadium. The toss is scheduled for 0900 PKT, with the first ball set to be bowled at 0930 PKT.
The semi-final showdowns witnessed Peshawar triumph over FATA by a convincing 44-run margin, thanks to stellar performances from skipper Sahibzada Farhan and Adil Amin, earning them a spot in the final. Meanwhile, Karachi Whites secured their berth by defeating Multan by 43 runs (DLS method) in a captivating encounter.
Leading the batting charge for Peshawar is Adil Amin, amassing 279 runs in seven innings, well-supported by skipper Sahibzada Farhan. Their bowling spearhead, 23-year-old Abbas Afridi, boasts an impressive tally of 12 wickets in six matches, bolstering their quest for the title.
On the other side, Karachi Whites are relying on the remarkable batting prowess of Saim Ayub, who has racked up 386 runs in seven innings, followed closely by Shan Masood with 372 runs. Sohail Khan has been instrumental with the ball, claiming 10 wickets, closely trailed by Danish Aziz, who has scalped nine wickets in the tournament.
Expressing optimism ahead of the final, Karachi Whites’ captain Sarfaraz Ahmed emphasized his team’s strong performance throughout the tournament. He anticipated a fierce contest against Peshawar, acknowledging them as a formidable opponent and anticipated an exciting showdown.
Meanwhile, Peshawar’s captain, Sahibzada Farhan, affirmed the team’s preparation and balance, especially with the inclusion of senior players like Iftikhar Ahmed. He conveyed confidence in the team’s abilities and expressed readiness to deliver a top-notch performance in the final.
