Preparations for the much-anticipated Champions One-Day Cup are in full swing at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium, as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi made a late-night inspection of the venue. During his visit, Mr. Naqvi reviewed the ground conditions, enclosures, and overall arrangements, while also observing the players’ practice session to ensure the tournament is set to run smoothly.
Chairman Naqvi stressed the importance of top-notch arrangements for the fans attending the tournament. “No effort will be spared in organising the Champions Cup,” he remarked, highlighting the significance of the event as men’s senior competitive cricket makes its return to Faisalabad after a long hiatus.
Mr. Naqvi expressed optimism that the people of Faisalabad, known for their passion for cricket, will enjoy the matches and called on authorities to further improve the facilities for the fans’ convenience.
Director of Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi provided a detailed briefing on the preparations, while Advisor Bilal Afzal, officials from Faisalabad’s district administration and police, Mentor Shoaib Malik, and other senior PCB officials were also present during the inspection.
The Champions One-Day Cup is expected to draw a large crowd of cricket enthusiasts as Faisalabad prepares to host the return of high-level domestic cricket.
