The cast and crew of Udaari produced jointly by Momina Duraid (MD Productions) and Kashf Foundation in collaboration with the Canadian Government, witnessed the last episode of Udaari among friends, well-wishers and the media at a jam-packed event held at a local hotel here earlier today. The unveiling of the much-awaited last episode was followed by a panel discussion moderated by STARLINKS CEO, Shanaz Ramzi.

Written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Ehteshamuddin the serial’s stellar cast includes industry veterans Bushra Ansari, Ahsan Khan, Farhan Sayeed, Samiya Mumtaz, Laila Zuberi and Urwa Hocane.

The programme hosted by Haris Waheed and Malika Zafar, both of whom can also be seen in the play, began with a welcome and a brief recap about the journey of the serial. This was followed by the opening address by Sultana Siddiqui President HUM Network who elaborated on HUM TV’s role and motivation for the project. Roshaneh Zafar from Kashf Foundation talked about why the Foundation took on this project and the challenges faced while bringing it to fruition. She also thanked the press for the extensive coverage and support they provided throughout the airing of the serial. Momina Duraid CEO MD productions who is also the co-producer and creative head and designer of the project, shared how some of the actors had to really come out of their comfort zones for the roles that they played in the drama and how well the entire team was received by the viewers. Guests were then treated to a special preview of the final episode of Udaari.

The highlight of the evening was a panel discussion with the stakeholders comprising Sultana Siddiqui, Momina Duraid, Roshaneh Zafar, Manizeh Bano (an expert on child sexual abuse), Ahsan Khan, Sammiya Mumtaz, Ehtishamuddin, Farhan Saeed, and Urwa Hocane, followed by a Q and A session also conducted by Shanaz Ramzi. Mementos were then presented to the guests in the panel.

The closing address was presented by the Head of Aid for the Government of Canada in Pakistan, Kiril Iordanov who highlighted why the Canadian Government had been supporting Udaari. It may be noted that this drama serial is not the first collaboration to take place between MD Productions and Kashf Foundation; previously they have worked together on the creation of the critically acclaimed drama Rehaii. This was followed by the Vote of Thanks.
