PSL X Trophy ‘Luminara’ Unveiled in Historic Deep-Sea Ceremony

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has made history with a groundbreaking unveiling of its 10th edition trophy, Luminara, in Karachi’s coastal waters. This first-of-its-kind reveal symbolizes innovation, resilience, and the spirit of Pakistan’s premier T20 competition, marking a new milestone in the league’s legacy.

Crafted from a single sheet of solid silver, Luminara is an artistic masterpiece weighing 10 kilograms and encrusted with 22,850 high-luster zircon stones, representing the brilliance and competitive excellence of PSL. The trophy’s name is derived from the Latin words luminare (torch) and lumens (light), embodying the league’s decade-long journey of cricketing excellence.

The grand unveiling took place in the Arabian Sea, where a professional diver, supported by the Pakistan Navy, retrieved a treasure chest from the deep waters and presented the trophy to PSL stakeholders in Karachi. The spectacle, attended by PCB and HBL officials, franchise representatives, and cricketers, added to the excitement ahead of PSL X.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi lauded the innovative unveiling, stating:

“The unveiling of ‘Luminara’ at sea is a testament to the league’s commitment to innovation and excellence. As we celebrate a decade of PSL, this trophy represents the league’s shining legacy and its bright future.”

PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer highlighted the depth of passion in the league:

“PSL has always been about pushing boundaries, both on and off the field. Just as the sea holds mysteries and depth, PSL has been a deep reservoir of talent, resilience, and sportsmanship.”

The highly anticipated 10th edition of PSL is set to take place from April 11 to May 18 across Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, with the opening match featuring defending champions Islamabad United against Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
