PTI MNA Javaria escapes gun attack by husband at Parliament lodges

Javaria Zafar, a PTI MNA and Parliamentary Secretary for Overseas Pakistanis, reportedly survived a gun attack at Parliament Lodges on Wednesday, according to the media Reports.

According to reports, Javeria Zafar, a female member of the National Assembly and a PTI leader, was unharmed in the gunshots at Parliament Lodges. Her husband, she claimed, was responsible for the incident.

The MNA filed a complaint with the Islamabad women’s police station against her spouse Haider Ali. Javeria Zafar allegedly contracted Nikah with Haider Baloch six months ago, according to the FIR. Ms Zafar moved to court for an annulment of their marriage, seeking ‘Khula’, after the pair clashed over a minor issue.

Baloch also threatened to kill Ms Zafar and her family, according to the FIR. According to the MNA, the assailant placed a gun on her head, but she managed to flee and save her life. The bullet whizzed by her and slammed into the wall.

The complainant demanded that the accused be prosecuted. The police initiated the proceedings. However, no arrest has been made so far.
