Long forgotten PTV actor Ismail Changazi passed away in Karachi on Wednesday, 17th of July 2019.
Ismail Changaizi made his presence felt on the screen for the uncountable characters he portrayed for numerous drama series including a few films.
Unfortunately, the news of his passing away only became public after his son Ahsan Ismail shared an open letter on social media.
Ahsan, Ismail Changazi’s son is heartbroken as no one from the entertainment fraternity bothered to condole over his death.
Born on 19th December 1954 in Lahore later moved to Karachi, Ismail Changazi appeared in numerous TV dramas as a supporting actor. His built made him prominent for doing negative characters.
To name a few, include celebrated PTV series Fifty Fifty, Jangloose, Ankahi, Mandi, Zero Point. In fact, Ismail Changazi appeared in almost every PTV drama that was produced from Karachi station.
One of his major work was a children drama series Jinn Chacha, during the ’80s in which he played the title character. Children who grew up in the ’80s do have few memories of that series including me.
While talking to OyeYeah, Ahsan shared that his father was also heartbroken as the senior actors with whom he worked in uncountable projects never tried to stay in contact. His father used to sit at a local hotel near his home and shared his work experience and drama tales with fellows.
Ismail Changaizi retired from PIA from head baker’s post. His son recalls, his father used to watch TV to judge the acting skills of actors and noted their expressions thoroughly.
Pakistan entertainment industry has lost another gem this year. Though Ismail Changaizi was not an actor who made into the headlines but contributed a major part of his life for Pakistani dramas.
