The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Quetta Gladiators will be launching Quetta Gladiators CM Balochistan Talent Hunt Program in the second week of October with an age limit of U-25 across the province.
As many as 20 players will be shortlisted at the end of this competition.
This talent hunt initiative was finalized in a meeting between Quetta Gladiators representatives Azam Khan and Nabeel Hashmi and government officials Secretary Sports Imran Gichki and Director General Durra Baloch.
Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar has said that this initiative with the cooperation of government of Balochistan will help unearth new talent which will be nurtured and polished so that they can compete at the highest level.
“It’s important that we provide such talent hunt opportunities to the youth of Balochistan so that they can come and showcase their skills to everyone,” Nadeem said.
“The idea is to shortlist the best players and provide proper coaching to them so that with time they can evolve and compete with best players of Balochistan and ultimately Pakistan.”
The trials will begin in Quetta on October 9 and 10 at the Balochistan Academy where players from Quetta, Qilla Abdullah, Nushki, Pishin, Loralai, Mastung, Ziarat, Qilla Saifullah, Barkhan, Musakhel, Zhob, Chaghi, Harnai, Dukki and Sherani.
The next phase of trials will be on October 12 in Naseerabad at the Shaheed Abdul Ghaffar Sial Stadium in Dera Mura Jamali where athletes from Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Sibbi, Sohbatpur, Kech, Usta Mohammad, Kolu, Jhal Magsi and Dera Bugti will be selected.
Meanwhile, on October 17 the players from Lasbela, Washuk, Kharab, Sohrab, Khuzdar, Kalat, Panjgur and Gawadar will appear in trails at the Jam Mir Ghulam Qadir Stadium in Hub.Sardar Wali will be the franchise Coordinator for the event.
