Quetta Gladiators’ spinner Usman Tariq has been reported for a suspect bowling action during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 fixture against Karachi Kings. The incident occurred on March 6th at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
Following the report, the management of Quetta Gladiators has responded by requesting the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to allow Usman Tariq to undergo a bowling action test. This test, aimed at assessing the legality of his bowling action, will be conducted at a PCB-approved facility in the near future.
Bowling actions have been a topic of scrutiny and vigilance in modern cricket, with governing bodies such as the PCB and the International Cricket Council (ICC) implementing measures to detect and address any instances of illegal actions.
Usman Tariq, a key member of the Quetta Gladiators squad, will now await the results of the bowling action test, which will determine his eligibility to continue bowling in competitive cricket.
As the PSL 9 season progresses, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining the integrity of the game and upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship at all times.
