Rameez, Sajjad score match winning half-centuries for Sindh and KP in Cricket Associations T20 tournament

Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won their matches on the fifth day of the Cricket Associations T20 tournament on Sunday at the Bugti Stadium in Quetta.

Sindh v Northern

An unbeaten half-century from Rameez Aziz guided Sindh to a three-wicket win over Northern.

After being put into bat first, Northern scored 150 for five on the back of half-century from Mubasir Khan. Mubasir returned undefeated on 52 off 49 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes.

Captain Umair Masood (31 off 19, three fours, two sixes) and Zeeshan Malik (26 off 29, three fours, one six) were other contributors for Northern.

Asif Mehmood picked two wickets for 25.

Sindh chased down the target for the loss of seven wickets in the last over with Rameez scored unbeaten 52 off 36 balls. His innings included four fours and two sixes. He was supported by captain Faraz Ali who scored a quick-fire 39 off 33, laced with four fours and one six.

Northern’s Zaman Khan picked four for 38, while Raza Hasan took two for 26 in four overs.

Central Punjab v Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Half-century from Sajjad Ali and two wickets apiece from Asif Afridi and Mohammad Abbas Afridi led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to a four wicket win over Central Punjab.

After being asked to bat first, Central Punjab scored 161 for seven.

Mohammad Irfan Khan top-scored with a 24-ball 49, which included four fours and three sixes.

Saif Badar (33 off 25, two fours, one six) and Gauhar Hafeez (30 off 21, five fours and one six) was other contributors with the bat for Central Punjab.

Asif and Abbas took two wickets each for 26 and 37 runs, respectively.

In return, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa achieved victory in the 17th over with wicketkeeper-batsman Sajjad top-scoring with 42-ball 52. He struck six fours and two sixes.

Mohammad Arif and Asif Afridi contributed 35 and 32 runs respectively for the winning team.
