Award winning TV host and anchor Summaiya Rizwan who is the face of current affair show Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar on Bol News has been nominated for the Agahi Awards. This is second year in a row for Summaiya Rizwan to get the nomination.
Agahi Awards recently released the nominations for the this year’s award. Summaiya Rizwan is nominated in the category of female news anchor for a current affairs show award.

Reflecting on the nomination Summaiya said:
“It feels really good to be nominated for the award. This is my second consecutive year to get the nomination for the current affairs show host award. It also feels great because it is sort of recognition of all the hardwork and effort we put in our work. This means that our work is being registered.”
News anchor turned programme host Summaiya Rizwan started her career with PTV and is associated with the news media for over 12 years now.

Summaiya feels that Agahi Awards is a great initiative for the recognition of work being done in news media. She said:
“Agahi Awards is doing a fantastic job to highlight and recognize work of broadcast and press journalists who are making an effort and contributing with their hard-work in the field of electronic and print media. For such initiative, hats off to the team of Agahi Awards.”
Summaiya has been the face of ARY News for over five years, which was also her shot to fame. At ARY Summaiya was not only a news anchor but also hosted various shows, transmissions for the channel and events of the network. She believes that recognition of good work is always motivating:
“Winning an award is secondary. The more important factor is the sense of being recognised for the work you have done. It is always motivating and encouraging when you see feedback on your work and get recognition through infinitives such as Agahi Awards. It is also pertinent to mention that the biggest recognition is all the feedback, love and support of our viewers, fans, and followers since they are the best of the critiques.”

In 2017, Summaiya joined Bol News, where initially she hosted Bol News Head Quarters with Neelam Yousuf and other anchors of the channel. Later she started hosting her solo show Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar in late 2017. For the commendable work with the show Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar Summaiya Rizwan received various awards and nominated twice for Agahi Awards. “Winning an award also means that now you have to do better than the benchmark you set. When I won the best anchor award it made me feel that now I have to do better than what i have done in the past. I always feel that i have a competition with myself and i have to be the best version of myself.”

Summaiya believes that this is not the result of solo flight but a fruit of team effort. She said:
“This is not just my work and achievement. I am the face of the show but there are ten other people who are behind the camera working hard to execute the show and make Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar what it is today. This is not the nomination for me only but it is for the whole team and if we win it this will be the win of whole Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar team.”

Summaiya Rizwan holds a degree in Zoology. Besides being a news show host she has also hosted entertainment show, special transmissions and events. She is also part time model and did TVCs for renowned MNCs.
