Review of Tere Bin’s Last Episode: A Satisfying Conclusion with Lingering Questions

After 58 episodes, 7th Sky Entertainment’s Tere Bin has finally reached its conclusion, leaving audiences with mixed emotions. The last episode ties up loose ends and provides a happy ending with the reunion of Meerub and Murtasim. Mustasim’s instant acceptance of Meerub and her daughter Meesab, calling off his nikkah with Haya, brings a satisfying conclusion for the masses. However, critics are left questioning the sanity of Meerub and her forgiveness towards Murtasim.

The episode begins with Meerub barging into the house during Murtasim’s nikkah with Haya. From Meerub’s perspective, her entry at that moment seems out of character, ignoring what is happening and introducing Meesam as Murtasim’s daughter. Surprisingly, Murtasim instantly accepts them, seemingly captivated by Meerub’s presence.

The closure for Haya’s character is not as fulfilling. Despite Murtasim questioning her about Meerub’s departure from the Haveli, Meerub openly admits that she knew and witnessed Haya leaving. However, Haya audaciously denies the fact before finally confessing her actions were driven by her love for Murtasim. Haya’s act of pushing Anwar Chacha feels out of place and unsatisfying. Many viewers expected her to face more severe consequences for her wrongdoings.

Rumors of a second season are circulating, and it is hoped that Haya will not return. While Murtasim embracing his daughter is a heartwarming moment, the fact that Meerub accepts and happily reunites with her rapist is problematic when considering the original script. However, staying true to the story, Meerub never questions Murtasim about his decision to marry Haya.

Overall, Tere Bin may be regarded as a nonsensical trashy romance by some, but it has undoubtedly made an impact on the drama industry, setting new records and standards. The show’s massive success extends beyond Pakistan, reaching South Asian countries where Urdu is understood, such as India, Bangladesh, and Nepal. The commendable performances of Wahaj Ali and Yumna Zaidi have contributed to the show’s popularity, propelling them to new heights of stardom. Congratulations to the entire team of Tere Bin for achieving such phenomenal success and setting new standards in the drama industry.
